The Future
of GPU
Mining.

XeChain is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency built from first principles for GPU miners. Our proprietary XeHash algorithm is engineered to be memory-hard, ASIC-resistant, and optimally efficient on consumer and professional graphics hardware — keeping mining decentralized, accessible, and community-owned.

The XeChain Thesis

Decentralization
Dies When
ASICs Win.

Bitcoin’s early vision was a currency anyone could mine on their home computer. That vision died when ASIC manufacturers gained control of the hardware supply chain, centralizing mining power into industrial operations that small miners could never compete with. XeChain was built to prevent that outcome.

Our XeHash v2 algorithm is memory-hard by design — it requires large amounts of fast GPU memory that ASICs cannot efficiently replicate without becoming indistinguishable from GPUs in cost and performance. This ensures that the graphics hardware in gaming PCs, workstations, and small mining rigs worldwide remains competitive with industrial-scale operations, keeping the network genuinely distributed.

When mining is accessible to individuals, the network security is distributed across tens of thousands of independent nodes with no single point of failure or control. That is not a feature — it is the foundation of what makes a proof-of-work cryptocurrency meaningful.

🔊

ASIC-Resistant

XeHash v2 requires 6GB+ VRAM per compute unit. No ASIC can replicate this efficiently. GPU miners will always be competitive on XeChain.

🌐

Truly Decentralized

14,000+ miners across 80 countries. No pool controls more than 18% of hashrate. XeChain cannot be 51% attacked by a single actor.

INFRASTRUCTURE CONTEXT

How ASIC Mining
Shapes the
Broader Landscape.

XeChain chose GPU mining precisely because we studied what happened to ASIC-dominated networks. Understanding the ASIC mining ecosystem is not just academic — it directly informs why our algorithm design choices matter and why they are worth preserving.

ASIC miners are purpose-built machines that dominate proof-of-work networks where they are not actively resisted. On Bitcoin, they operate at scales measured in hundreds of exahashes per second — a concentration of computing power that makes the network extraordinarily secure but concentrates that security in the hands of a relatively small number of large operators. The hardware itself — Bitmain’s Antminer series and comparable machines — represents billions of dollars of specialized investment that can only ever serve a single purpose.

What determines whether an ASIC operation is profitable or not has become increasingly a software question. Factory firmware shipped with ASIC mining firmware hardware is designed conservatively — stable across a wide range of operating environments, but deliberately restrained in performance. Professional firmware like Vnish, purpose-built for Bitmain Antminers and compatible hardware, unlocks the full potential through per-chip autotuning, adaptive undervolting, and continuous optimization loops — delivering 15–30% more hash rate per watt than factory defaults.

For XeChain, the lesson is clear: the more a network’s security depends on expensive, specialist hardware accessible only to industrial operators, the more vulnerable that network becomes to the interests of hardware manufacturers and large mining pools. GPU mining keeps the barrier to entry at the cost of a consumer graphics card — and that is a choice worth defending.

Start Mining in
10 Minutes.

Four steps. Any modern GPU. No technical background required beyond basic familiarity with command-line tools.

01

Download XeMiner

Download the latest release of XeMiner from our GitHub repository or the official website. Available as a pre-compiled binary for Windows 10/11, Ubuntu 20.04+, and compatible with HiveOS and RaveOS mining distributions.

wget github.com/xechain/xeminer/v2.1

02

Create a Wallet

Download the XeChain desktop wallet or use our browser-based wallet generator to create a new address. Your wallet address (xc1q…) is where your mining rewards will be sent. Back up your seed phrase securely before mining.

xewallet create --type=mining

03

Choose a Pool

Select one of our recommended mining pools. For most miners, xc-pool.io is the best starting point — 0.5% fee, PPLNS rewards, servers in EU, US, and APAC, and a public dashboard showing your hashrate, shares, and pending balance.

stratum+tcp://xc-pool.io:3333

04

Run the Miner

Launch XeMiner with your wallet address and pool configuration. The software auto-detects your GPUs, downloads the current DAG, and begins submitting shares within 2–3 minutes. First payout arrives when balance reaches 1 XEC.

xeminer -a xehash2 -o pool.xc-pool.io:3333 -u xc1q...

A Community

and Miners.

XeChain has never had a VC round, a pre-mine, or a developer tax. The entire supply is mined into existence — distributed fairly to the miners securing the network, every 90 seconds, since block #1.

Our community spans 80 countries, 14,000 active miners, 400+ developers contributing to the open-source ecosystem, and a Discord server where the core developers answer questions directly. No intermediaries, no PR handlers, no “community team” that is actually just a marketing department.

Questions.

Not here? Ask in Discord or open a GitHub discussion.

Can I mine XEC with my gaming PC?

Yes, if your GPU has 6GB+ VRAM (e.g. RTX 3060, RX 6600 XT or better). Lower VRAM cards cannot hold the DAG and are not compatible. A gaming PC with a single RTX 3080 earns approximately $1.39/day at current prices and $0.07/kWh electricity.

Is XeChain really ASIC-resistant?

XeHash v2 requires 6GB of fast GDDR6/GDDR6X memory per compute unit. To match a GPU’s performance, an ASIC would need to include the same memory at comparable speeds — at which point the cost and power consumption is identical to a GPU, eliminating any advantage. We have not seen any ASIC development for XeHash.

What happened to the pre-mine?

There was no pre-mine. No tokens were allocated to the founding team, investors, or any party before the public launch. The founding team mines XEC at market rates the same as everyone else. The only coins in existence were mined after block #1 went live publicly.

How often does the block reward halve?

Every 2,100,000 blocks — approximately 4 years at 90-second block times. The first halving (from 25 XEC to 12.5 XEC) occurred at block #2,100,000 in March 2026. The next halving to 6.25 XEC is approximately 4 years away.

What is XeVM?

XeVM is an EVM-compatible smart contract layer deployed as a separate execution environment on XeChain. It allows Solidity developers to deploy Ethereum-compatible contracts on XeChain using XEC as gas. The XeVM is secured by the same proof-of-work miners as the base layer.

Is XeChain a fork of Ethereum?

No. XeChain is an original codebase written in Go (the node software) and Rust (the wallet and cryptographic libraries). It borrows design ideas from Bitcoin and Ethereum but shares no code with either. The EVM-compatible smart contract layer (XeVM) is a separate component that implements the EVM specification independently.
